Boxing champion-turned-record executive Floyd Mayweather, Jr. is allegedly refusing to pay his landlord more than $63,000 (£42,000) in rent because of the substandard condition of the building in Las Vegas.
The star is said to have been forced to leave the offices for his marketing company, Mayweather Promotions, in Sin City earlier this week (begs26Jul10) after falling behind on payments.
According to a complaint filed in in Las Vegas district court, Mayweather is five months behind on rent and owes the landlord more than $63,000.
But Mayweather's lawyer claims his client has been withholding the rent money because the property's conditions were substandard.
Jeffrey Morse tells the New York Post's gossip column PageSix, "Mayweather gave notice to the landlord. It's been at least two months since he decided to leave."
